County Commissioner Stephen Nodine, the Mobile Public Library and the citizens of Semmes joined together to establish a Public Library in Semmes. A hugely successful fundraising campaign has raised over $300,000 for the new library and the book collection. The Semmes Branch of the
Mobile Public Library is scheduled to open with a ribbon cutting
ceremony on Wednesday, January 7, 2009! The
branch has more than 13,000 square feet with a community meeting room, a
conference room, a quiet study room and a technology center. There will
be plenty of computers with free Internet, and almost 25,000 new
materials! Our staff is already making plans for storytimes and other
